Objectives

Maintaining customer loyalty in a market that is price competitive is tough. What’s not so tough is creating a reason for them to keep coming back, we think anyway. That’s why top petrol forecourt retailer Conoco Phillips came to us to create and launch their major summer sports initiative to increase spend across their forecourts in a year where the spotlight is on sport.
And because sport has been at the forefront of everyone’s minds, we had to come up with something extra special and ultra-comprehensive to capture people’s imaginations. No pressure then.

We think recruiting over 6,000 sports activities should do it!
Sports ranged from Judo, Tae Kwon-Do, Dance, Gym Sessions, Fitness Classes, Pilates, Paintball, Swimming and Bowling, so there really was something for everyone.

Where possible, we worked with the relevant governing bodies to help them promote their sport to a wider audience and add further credibility to the campaign. These included British Judo, The Exercise, Movement and Dance Partnership and the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain. A bit of clout never hurt anybody, unless we are talking about martial arts of course.

And if the idea of that is all a bit tiring, customers also had the opportunity to treat themselves to a great night in with Blockbuster with fabulous savings on in-store DVD rental, as well as online.

Taking part was simple – spend £30 to receive a promotional voucher complete with promotional code to redeem against an activity of your choice.
The campaign was promoted by prominent POS highlighting all our fabulous partners across Jet forecourts.
